about

An invocation of the Okoroshi water spirit, a masked dance of initiation. Channels of ceremonial noise and sound processed in a dialogue of duality.

The recording is a self-contained ritual conceived as a diptych and intended to be played in entirety on each side. The A Side invokes light, the spirit of the feminine "Okoroshi Oma", to be played forward (Tracks 1-6); while the B Side conjures darkness, the masculine spirit of "Okoroshi Ojo", and inverts the track order (to be played from 6-1). In this way, the record's structure mirrors the duality that inspired its sources, sounds, and Oma // Ojo track titles.
